SKIP provides support, information and parenting strategies for parents and caregivers of 0–5 year olds. SKIP’s vision is for all children in New Zealand to be raised in a positive way by parents and caregivers who feel confident about managing children’s behaviour as part of a loving, nurturing relationship.
One of SKIPs current resources is a booklet offering tips for how to deal with the tricky bits of raising kids under 5, like tantrums, hitting, biting etc. Due to the popularity of this, SKIP decided to create a mobile app. We worked with the incredibly talented experience specialist Anais Ardid who created the user experience. We designed the look and feel through out and created the fun and humorous illustrations. Due to the size these illustrations would be appearing onscreen we proposed creating appealing characters from simple shapes, allowing their facial expressions to be the heroes, with simple arms and legs to reinforce the behaviour each character is expressing.
We again worked with Anais Ardid on the tips for parents section of the SKIP website creating a bright, colourful, inviting, user friendly site for parents. It has a beautiful consistency with the app. The illustrated characters feature prominently, often interacting with the information
This project was a Mobile app and a website.
