SHOTT produces shots of real fruit, from real ingredients as mother nature intended. They were after design for their new pharmacy product, single serve pods of Lemon, Ginger & Honey for cold and flu. This is the mother earth option v's manufactured chemicals to soothe symptoms of cold and flu. We needed to design the packaging to appeal to the female, health conscious, age 25-40 who is looking for an alternative to medications for cold and flu symptoms with no added sugar.
The design needs to be a balance of natural, real ingredients and clinical grade that stands out on the pharmacy shelf.
We choose to feature a hexagon, honey comb pattern. The pattern itself represents the real, natural product while also being geometric, offering a sense of pharmaceutical to add reassurance and trust that the product will work. As the hexagons are designed in a random way, with overlapping and transparent shapes it softens the potential of it looking too clinical, instead being vibrant, intriguing and full of energy. We have represented the lemon, honey and ginger through the use of three different colours, a vibrant yellow for lemon, a golden yellow for honey and a burnt orangey brown colour for ginger.
We added a female silhouette with highlight hexagons to show the areas where this products can benefit. Placing this on the box board adds a natural feel helping balancing it from looking too clinical. We incorporated icons housed in black hexagons for key information, helping simplify all the information.
